International MTB Tour

Herkenbosch, The Netherlands

The 8th edition is closed. 

International MTB Tour with two start places in the Netherlands and in Germany. Crossing the border between both countries in the National Park De Meinweg and the German forest Dalheimer Wald. This website concerns the Dutch start place: Herkenbosch. Herkenbosch is situated between the cities Roermond in The Netherlands and Mönchengladbach in Germany.
Two distances of 39 and 56 km, with no time measurement and complete signage on the course. You can collect up to 425 altimeters. Half way a free supply station. 

This cross country tour offers a variety of beautiful landscapes, a cool mountainbike area for great variety and action. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the National Park De Meinweg, in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that we take so seriously.

E-MTB welcome. Also suitable for cyclo crossers.
The licence-free tour is open to everyone from beginner to pro.
No pre-registration necessary.

Start fee: 7 Euro + 3 Euro for steering number, which will be refunded after the tour.

Sign-in for the event is closed. 

Toilet facilities will be available on location throughout the tour, at the Club house in Klinkum, Germany and at Visitors Centre "De Meinweg".

Facilities for washing bikes and shower facilities are located only at the club house in Klinkum, Germany.

Hot and cold food and drinks will be on sale at the club house in Klinkum for the duration of the tour.

There will be free food and drinks at the two marshal stations on the course.

The course gps will be announced approximately 2 days before the event. Expect forest roads, singletracks, roots, short steep hills and downhills as well, railway crossings, perhaps a sheep herd and whatever the weather can throw at us.

If you want to spend the night in the region, look at our link site for a hotel, B&B or camping.

Safety on the course is our primary concern. If you come across an injured or a potentially unsafe situation, you are encouraged to stop and assist.
Riders are encouraged to call pleasantly "passing on the right or left" as appropriate.
Shortcutting the course is not allowed.
For obvious safety reasons there is no reverse riding on the course. 
Foul riding will not be tolerated, unsportsmanlike behaviour is totally un-acceptable. 
Wearing a buckled helmet is mandatory anytime you are on your bike.
